This pod plus a T6 replaced my annoyingly unreliable Garmin Edge 305, and I could not be happier. The GPS has worked flawlessly. I use it for road biking and trail running. It finds satellites fast and holds reception even under fairly heavy tree and cloud cover. I use the arm strap for running and it’s very comfortable. On my bike I just throw it in a pocket in my handlebar bag and I’m good to go. The battery life is longer than advertised. I wanted to check the accuracy, so I ran several laps on a quarter mile track and it was never more than 1/100 of a mile off.

I agree that this unit, the one with a replaceable battery, is the only way to go. This transmitter unit works just as I wanted it to with my receiver. It seems like it is made well, and of quality materials. Only time will tell, but I have used it frequently since I got it about a month ago, and I am very pleased.
I got the Medium-XXLarge size, and it fits me well. But I’m a guy 5 foot 8 and 180 pounds. So I’m not skinny, and I’m not fat. I’m kind of medium build. And the belt doesn’t have much more adjustment available to get larger. So if you are large, you might want to see if there is a larger size available.

What is WAAS?
GPS receivers have an accuracy of about 15 meters, but you can get to as close as 3 meters with a WAAS-enabled receiver. WAAS stands for Wide Area Augmentation System, which is a network of satellites and ground stations (in North America) that were designed to improve the accuracy and ensure the integrity of information coming from GPS satellites. Originally implemented by the FAA for aviation use, WAAS is particularly useful for serious outdoors enthusiasts as well as for precise in-city navigation.

Review
My boat had an old pitot speed sensor hooked up to a speedometer that didn’t show speed below 10mph which can be fast in no-wake zones. I purchased the Humminbird 525 fishfinder and added this speed sensor which works really well as low as 2mph. The fishfinder hooks up with a cable keyed to fit in the right spot (idiot proof) and the unit is plug and play. The instruction stated to use 5/8″ drill bit on the transom, but you could use a 1/2″ and save the trouble of looking for the larger bit. This product is great!
